Good questions Eddie. I was wondering exactly that.  If the software is 
just recording attempted hits, but none of them are actually getting in 
or doing anything, then I wonder if it is really worth the money to buy 
it.

Thus far, I have not been aware of any behaviour on my computer's part 
that would suggest that somebody has broken in and messed around with 
files, etc.

 From some of the notes that I have been reading, it seems like a router 
would be a more effective security solution for those with always-on 
internet connections.
