We just had a 2-year-old original 15" apple flatpanel go blooey with vertical rainbow stripes. No warning, just wham. Fortunately I have a backup monitor and it happened just before we gave away the Power PC and flat monitor to a nonprofit. -don but two years! I should've bought applecare...
