Hi All,

Man-O-Man: i am reading more and more angry (and angrier!) comments
on mac discussion groups about the fuzzy/blurred text problem, esp.
on the new flat panel imac. LOTS of them are on the apple.com page.
People are really mad at Apple for not even addressing the fact that
there is a problem or that they are working to fix it. There is
even a substantial number of life-time Mac users who are
contemplating, for the first time, leaving the Mac world entirely.

There is a growing consensus that there is a serious problem with OSX
10.1 that is causing the problem: poor anti-aliasing and poor to
non-existent user options for changing system fonts. I have OSX
10.1.5 and the condition still persists.

And NO, TinkerTools2 does nothing with the OSX system fonts (and
clearly states this fact in their own documentation); Silk improves
things very little; changing resolution is preposterous, and changing
the anti-aliasing font size as allowed by OSX is a joke.

So.

When do you all think Apple is going to fix this?

Dale
P.S. BTW, this problem is still bugging me, but not as much as in the
past. One does tend to get used to things, plus there are a number
of fonts that work pretty well on Internet Explorer, as well as on
AppleWorks, Word, etc. But it is still a problem which Apple must,
in my opinion, fix very very soon.
