> Is it possible to connect an external monitor to my Bondi iMac?

Yes, just take the back cover off, and inside you'll find a standard 15 pin
Mac monitor connector. Unplug the internal monitor, and plug in your
external monitor, and away you go.

I'm not sure if there's an easy way to have the external monitor plugged in
and put the case back together though.

> Has anyone tried this?

Yes, I've used this method to connect a Mac Video to NTSC video converter,
to let me view my iMac's screen on a TV/VCR.

The only problem I had was that I couldn't get the iMac's internal screen to
work at the same time as the video output. I think it was because the Mac's
video circuitry detected the converter as a standard VGA monitor, and ran it
at 640X480 @ 60Hz, and the internal monitor wouldn't work at those settings.

> What connections are required?

Just a normal Mac monitor, and I think a screwdriver to open the iMac.

> More work than it's worth?

Nah, opening the case is relatively easy and safe, it's the same thing you'd
do to install more RAM. You can find instructions online with a quick
search.
