If there's no Mac software to re-partition a hard drive without loosing the
data, then why does Norton Speed Disk have an option for defragmenting all
the files to one side of a hard drive, called "re-partitioning" or something
like that?

Just wishful thinking on Norton's part maybe?

I know there's software for doing this same task on a PC, I think it's
called "Partition Magic".
