Serial and Localtalk are not the same thing.
There is a USB to serial adapter and an Ethernet to Localtalk Bridge.

Most Stylewriters and the Personal Laserwriter 300/LS are serial ONLY. That 
means you have to connect them directly to a machine with a serial port. The 
only way to network these printers is to connect them to a computer serially 
and then share the printer out (use the computer as a print server.)

A usb to serial adapter would work for this application, but I would 
recommend one of those griffin adapters that plugs into the modem connector 
on the motherboard. They are hard to find, but I've heard good things about 
them.

The 4/600 PS is localtalk only so an Ethernet bridge should work just fine.
