I had Rewind when using OS 9.1. It can't restore anything you did before it was installed, it keeps track of what you've done beyond the date and time of installation.
But I ended up trashing Rewind. It's a super memory hog, and was cluttering up my little iMac something fierce. It became more of a problem than a help. Maybe others have had a more positive experience that I did.
