Sheesh Amber, I'm not a Mac tech, nor do I play one on TV. <VBG> Actually if you
are comfortable working with Unix in terminal it's not that complicated. You use
the rm command, however, since Unix is extremely specific as to typing you first
need to list them all so you have their correct names.
You use Unix cd (change directory) command to do this. type cd/Library/Printers to
see a listing of all the drivers in the directory. Since the printers belong to
Root you use the sudo command to allow you to remove them. (If you are comfortable
working in the Root account then disregard. Me I'm a coward. <G>) Once you have
their names then it's simply using a rm (remove command for each) prefaced by sudo.
Something like sudo rm -r Canon, etc..
I strongly advocate consulting a manual for reference. This and many other Unix
hacks are nicely covered in O'Reilly's "Unix for OS X", and even in "OS X The
Missing manual". There are other much more elaborate Unix manuals out there, and
hordes of Unix web sites, but the above two manuals are great for novice Unix
users. MacWorld also published a freebie pocket handbook with Unix tips, and
MacAddict did a nice article a few moths ago.
Usual disclaimers, no financial interest, yadda, yadda, yadda. :-)
A good manual is a real asset as you can really, really, screw things up, big time
with Unix if you make mistakes. Very powerful software can make really really big
mistakes. <G>
