The OS X Epson print utility can be found in /Library/Printers/EPSON/Utilities/EPSON Printer Utility.app; it works very similarly to the OS 9 utility. I've been using the printer drivers that came installed on my iMac (had 10.1.2 installed at the factory) with (almost) no problem with my Epson 740i (have since upgraded to 10.1.5, still very few printer problems).
