I remember PINE.  I used to use it with my first E-mail address, which 
was based on Chebucto Community Net's Telnet server.  I used to access 
it from my local library, back before I had Internet access at home.

So much has changed since then... but one thing that has never changed 
(at least for me) is the message format.  I'm still sending my E-mails 
out in the same plain text I did back in 1996, and will probably 
continue to do so for the forseeable future.  :)
