Format is definitely an improvement over opening up the options with 
command-t, but I think it would be friendlier to have a row of style 
options on the menu with send/attach/address/etc. Maybe I'm really 
confused, but I thought that was an option in Outlook and hotmail for 
Windows.
However, if plain text is the only  way to go for email, I suppose it 
shouldn't be an issue for me. When I first got a mac (Pismo running OS 
9), Outlook had the style options individually built into the menu.
