Hi Jeremy, I have everything I need backed up now. This is the second time that this hard drive has screwed up and had to be cleaned off now, even though I bought it brand new only 8 months ago. I actually installed more RAM a couple of weeks ago because the Applecare person said that a constant spinning ball can be due to low RAM. Anyway, I had 512 mb installed bringing the total up to 640. Still, absolutely no difference. So...how do I zero out this hard drive ? I can't remember which disk I used last time. Is it the OS X install disk that I boot off to reinitialize ? I'm sick of messing around with this computer and just want to get it running normally or at least see if there really is something wrong with the hard drive. Thanks for your reply. As you suggested...a repaired drive can always go bad again and I just don't want that hassle. Amber -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
