Interesting - I just got my emac 2 weeks ago and think its a 10.1
machine? This Jaguar stuff is not familiar to me at all.
My restore cd's are labled OS 9 (version 9.2.2) and OS X I didn't get
the DVD/RW, just the CD/RW - haven't even figured out where the drive
is yet:) Did I get screwed?
I opted for the emac because i didn't care that much about the LCD vs.
flat panel screen. I'm not a professional graphics person, just a home
user - so I went with cheaper.
I really just wanted less wires and hardware and junk. I was so sick
of crawling under my desk with flashlight. Could have gone witth the
Gateway profile but decided to opt for the "little" guy. I'm really
getting upset by all the mega companies and mergers out there. If you
like American inovation you have to support it sometime.
I just got the two books I ordered, Crossing Platforms is copyrighted
1999! I'm a bit upset by that.
I'm so new at Mac, plus I lost my little white book so I don't even
know if I have disks I'm supposed to upgrade with. I've used PC's for
20 years though frankly I'm not a uh...computer person per se. They
are a tool - I want to do something I figure it out and do it. If its
the long way, a work around, I don't care. If I don't need to do it I
don't know how because I don't care to figure it out.
This list seems heavy on how to upgrade which would be interesting but
just makes me sort of anxious because my understanding is that the eMac
is totally unupgradeable?
As for how I like it etc. Ummm well, sort of a standard new tool like
experience so far but I'm not a demanding user really.
Mary
How do you know where your machine was made?
