Hi all, HELP!

I have been running OS X on my 500 mhz iBook from day one. I have 384 mg of
ram. It has been updated to 10.1.5 and it has always ran well and fast. I
have it on a 7 gig partion and OS 9.1 on a 3 gig partion. All has been well
for over a year.

Suddenly OS X is running really really really slowly. It takes at least ten
minutes to open iPhoto. All apps. open really slowly including the
preferences window.

I have also noticed that the clock's seconds do not count off. The clock is
keeing the correct time but the seconds are frozen. Every five minutes or
so the clock disappears and then reappears with the correct time.

I have also noticed that the modem and battery indicators have disappeared
from the top status bar as well.

Booting into OS 9, all is well and normal.

I have taken MacJanitor 1.2 off of a MacAddict disk and ran it. Also seem
to be going well. After an hour and a half it was still going at it. The
machine had not frozen. I had run MacJanitor before and it never took this
long. Finally I cancelled it.

Any ideas what could have gone wrong with OS X? Any recommendations?

TIA

Mike
