Huh? You need some special formatting software? I thought you could just pop in virtually ANY standard IDE/EIDE hard drive into a Classic iMac. I've been considering getting a new drive for this old iMac and I've been following various threads on the subject on this list. This is the first I've heard of needing any special formatting software or drivers. I have found very little info about installing a replacement drive, other than the physical replacement instructions. From what I've read on this list (unless I missed something), basically all you need to do is install the new drive, restart from the OS installer CD and format the drive with that.
