Then > proceed with the OS installation. Is that not true? Yes that is true. 97% of the time. Sometimes the Apple software will not see a HD that is formatted to DOS or other "foreign" file formats. Or is will see it but fail to format it. That's why I recommend using a second party drive formatting utility. Give it a whirl and keep in contact for help if it doesn't work. -- Kyle H.
