Hey Dale, Are you sure you were (would have been, I guess) unable to change your settings from within your own account? I haven't had the same problem, but I ask because it seemed it would have been quite easy for me to do so by using the "Get Info" command under the File Menu, going to the Owner & Permissions panel, and altering the folder for my account documents from there. Just wondering if you tried that first. I know you've been asking about this for a while, but I don't recall seeing that precise attempt. That would have saved you from "root".
