public folder, drop box folder, share folder, home folder. mercy
I have a word document that my wife wants to be able to use with her log-in. I've tried the public/share folder approach: it did get to my wife's "side" but it wouldn't open (couldn't "find" the file); i dropped on top of her home folder (which I can't open but which has a small arrow pointing down on the folder): when I did this i got a message that said something about "you won't be able to see the consequences of this action; do you want to continue?" I said yes--this time the file didn't even show up in Trish's home folder, usable or not!!! Why oh why is it not more "intuitive" to something like this which should a potentially common and always easy thing to do? Any advice/guidance would be very helpful. BTW, I finally did a "save as" with the word document and saved it to my home share folder; at this point she was finally able to open the document. But, again, there has to be a better way to share pictures, apps, documents, etc., etc. with a person who simply has a different log-in on the same computer Thanks, Dale "In most cases there is no free exercise whatever ... of the moral sense."--Henry David Thoreau -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
