Jerry: My floppy drive is supposedly self-powered. What concerns me is that it seemed to not allow me to shutdown the computer. I selected shutdown from the Apple menu (OS X) as usual to shutdown and instead the screen went blue and the spinning disk appeared. The only choice I had was to unplug the iMac. So I have unplugged my VST SmartDisk floppy drive and am afraid that if I use it again I'll crash or something. I can't believe that using a USB peripheral means having to unplug it before shutting down every time, or does it? Is this a quirk with SmartDisk?
