It must be a fully- powered port because on my 15" G4 iMac SD, I use
one of those "flylights", I think they're called, running all night
like a night light off of the R USB port on the keyboard & The L port
powers a micro$oft Intellimouse laser, IR, whatever they are, mouse.

Well, my SmartDisk (self-powered) caused a message to appear telling me
there wasn't enough power, so I'm still letting all of these
possibilities sink in. Are USB storage drives notoriously bad while
other peripherals are not? Do i have an Apple approved bad brand
(SmartDisk) or what I superstitously suspect sometimes, bad computing
karma?
Thanks
