Charles:
You make very interesting observations on the mac platform in business.
I'm possibly going to matriculate in an evening MBA program at the
University where I work.
In my marketing class, the professor made a flat out statement that he
hated Microsoft but then went on regaling us with stories about Dell's
business model.
I'll have to take several MIS courses and already I've had to take a 1
credit course on Access and Visual basic. Access and PowerPoint have a
stranglehold in the field as well as in education. Of course, the Office
v. mac is supposedly not only compatible but better than its Windows
cousin, although its future is cloudy from what I've read (i.e.
Microsoft's commitment to future upgrades). The program is totally
Windows oriented.
If, as you state, the mac platform is catching up on the
corporate/enterprise level, how exactly? What trend is developing? If I
bring this up in the context of MIS classes, I'm sure I'll either be
laughed at or put on the defensive.
