Your best bet is to obtain a 2100 and a compatible Ethernet card for 
it.  That way you can use Newton Connection Utilities to connect via 
Ethertalk.  That's pretty much your only connection option between a 
Newt and iMac or iBook.  As a recent switcher from Palm to Newt, I can 
tell you that I can do everything I did with my m505 with my 2100 and 
then some.  I read books, keep my life in order, get mail and web 
content.  I miss the small size, though.
