I use an eMate and a 130 with an iMac, but you'll need a serial -> USB 
adapter to connect the two devices this way. I have the Keyspan twin 
USB adapter and it works great for this under 9.2.2 and below via NCU. 
I don't know how it works under Classic environment.

I refuse to learn Graffiti and the HR (handwriting recognition) of the 
Newt OS is still the standard by which all HR is judged, IMHO and is 
why I never made the switch to the Palm OS units. Plus, there's still 
tons of neat and useful software for Newt, some even still being 
developed. I don't use it for this anymore, but I still have a modem 
card  and used to use my 130 for checking POP email and faxing all the 
time.
