MacWorld magazine (general topics, but somewhat focused on pro
graphics/video) interviewed someone from Quark and they said they wanted to
make sure it was done right. This was a valid excuse for Adobe with
Photoshop 7, but it's been almost 2 years now. I use Adobe InDesign, which
has some nifty features XPress doesn't have, but I see the dilemma that
XPress users face: abandon the XPress upgrade path and invest $600 on a new
program and deal with downtime of learning it, deal with Classic mode on a
daily basis, or skip out on Mac OS X altogether, which is getting harder to
do every day. Quark's position is getting pretty ridiculous by now, and
people have been so vocal about it, I'm surprised they haven't taken the
hint.
