Sorry about your problems, Barry, I hope I can help. When you do a
DiskWarrior (at least version 2?) on it, doesn't it report any errors at all
on that partition? If you get an error that Disk Doctor says it can't
repair, what error is it? When you erase the partition, and then do a Disk
Doctor and DiskWarrior on it, what kinds of errors do you get? It seems
likely to me that one of your partitions ran out of space and that is what
havocked your system.  Oh yes, and when you say Disk Doctor, do you mean
Norton Disk Doctor, and what version? I would avoid that particular
application, if I were you.
