If I remember correctly, this is for a tray-loading 333 iMac, right?  (Same
as I have.)  If so, you don't need a firmware update.  According to the
readme file included on the Jag disc with the firmware updater, it's only
for later, slot-loading models.

I had a similar problem when I updated to 10.2.3.  After the install
completed, the iMac wouldn't reboot.  What had happened was, after the
update finished, it had deleted the original system files it was replacing,
and had placed the new system files outside of the first 8 gig of the disc.
(My 20 gig drive is not partitioned.)  The solution was to startup from
Norton Utilities CD and run Speed Disk.  I had to select the option for "CD
or DVD Mastering" to get it to move all the files to the first part of the
drive.  Worked like a charm.
