Hi, im writing from a internet cafe because my rev-b imac does not work, and i need HELP, im in a small town in Mexico (probably the only one with an imac)and i have disk drive problems, heres the story:
Mi imac originaly has a 4gb HD, about 2 monts ago i bought a used 10 gb, when formated it and installed jaguar and on the restartit gave me a folder with a "?" sign, same thing hapend with OS 8.6 and 9.1, i tried everything, and nothing, i gave up thought it was a defective drive and put it away, i installed the original H.D. formated it(i was so sure i would use the 10Gb i formated the original one) last week, i bought a 60gb brand new, asked arownd to partition and whent to the task. The same thing hapened, followed the instalation ruels, partition and what ever it ask's for (exept for the second cd, sorry im installing Jaguar)and on the restart, again the folder with the OS face and a "?", then i formated and install OS 9.1, everything whent perfect, exept when i tried to install appleworks it tells me the cd is locked, whell on restart, the same thing folder and "?", i zapped the prom, and every thing i could find at apple's site and "nada", si i gave up, and whent to my old errased 4gb hd, and like Gomer Pile said "suprise, suprise, suprise" the damed thing whont work, after formateing it, and installing jaguuar (i now something is wrong because it never ask's for the second cd, like other times i have installed it), now when it restarts it gives me a gray picture with a circle and a slash on the middle like a no passing sign.
