John "looking at the list archives" "you've got to admit the possibility that at least some of your difficulties have been self-induced" Yo John is that some kind of thing that just happens to Dale G--self-induced difficulties?? I admit it I admit it!! I am guilty as charged. BTW, in some quarters that kind of behavior is also called "learning." So I hope other list members don't shy away too much from self-induced difficulties. A Bit. But not Too Much. And I have never had problems with updates, except that some dude at apple care insisted that a problem i was having could only be solved by a clean install of my original software which i did and which didn't help the problem but it took me back to 101.4 and i had to re-install 10.1.5 again with no problems. In my response concerning 10.2 problems I, if you read the letter, am not referring at all to difficulties of my own in installing 10.2, which I haven't done yet. I was referring to the a few brave folks who have written the list and contradicted some other folks who said that the install of 10.2 is seamless and that preferences will not be lost. Hoping to have the courage to continue making self-induced difficulties (a Bit, not Too Much), thanks, dale (FORMER Root User) g ===== "In most cases there is no free exercise whatever ... of the moral sense."--Henry David Thoreau __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
