if you don't want to take unnecessary chances, as you suggest, then i wouldn't use .mac email. it frequently bounces emails back to people, and you have a limit on how much you send people. in a word, it sucks, but i do have to admit that i've used it more than a few times. i use it for list emails, mostly, like this one.
