I am looking into getting a second Mac, both as a backup machine and for portability, an iBook. Three years seems like a pretty short life span for something that cost well over a thousand dollars. And they say that typical wintel pcs are even worse! One thing about Jaguar, a lot of the more annoying features can easily be turned off. The bizarre bouncy expanding dock, for example, was the first thing to get rid of. Now it is off screen unless I want it, and it does not wiggle. A few things like that, and Jaguar is a lot nicer to play with.
