Actually, I doubt that would make much difference. Mac OS X manages memory AMAZINGLY well, to the point where hidden applications take up little or no processor time or memory. The only thing it will affect is how quickly you can switch BETWEEN apps. THAT can be a bit sluggish when you don't have enough memory.

I rather watch DVD's in bed on the smaller 12" screen, than sit on a chair in front of my iMac.
Yeah. I can imagine that watching movies in bed would kick a**... ;) still, as a film purist, I think I'd rather have that big screen to capture the greater detail, especially on Superbit DVDs.
