Hi, I just bought an epson 2400 scanner, only to discover that it will not download its software in 10.2, though drivers can be downloaded that will allow it to. But OS9 has to be on the computer for the initial download. No 9, no download.
I've been using vuescan, which isn't bad, but I would like to use the scanners software. Facts: After loading 10.2, I nuked 9 from my computer I have a Mac OS 9 Install disk (9.2.2) I played around with installing it but reached a point where the only choice was something like "clean install" So, I did not do anything. I do not want to lose ANYTHING of my 10.2 system, including files, software, photos, documents, etc. that I've added. Is there a guaranteed way to install 9.2.2 leaving 10.2 untouched. If i wipe out 10.2 and all my settings and new stuff, I will suffer mightily in my little household. If I can't do it, oh well: I'll just wait until the world catches up with my 15" flat-panel imac, 700, combo-drive, OSX 10.2 computer. Thanks.
