Well, I didn't say that, assuming you are referring to the 9.2.2 installer CD, but what the heck - give it a try. You shouldn't need OS 9 just to download them, however. Heck, you should be able to download the files to any machine, even a Windows machine regardless of OS! You only need OS 9 installed on *some* drive *some* where to run the scanner driver installer program. You probably don't even have to boot the Mac in OS 9, just run it under Classic in OS X. I'd try this first: Copy the System folder from your 9.2.2 CD to your hard drive. Then go to System Preferences, click on Classic. It will scan your drive and find the folder you just copied to it. Click Start. The OS 9 boot up screen should appear, and a brief parade of extensions. It will probably give you an error about not having the USB drivers installed. Ignore it. Somewhere during this, OS X will tell you it needs to update OS 9. When all that's done, try running your scanner installer. It's not the ideal way to install or run OS 9, but it should be good enough to get your drivers installed. If that's successful, and you still would like a full version of OS 9.2.2 installed properly, then pop in your CD and run the OS 9.2.2 installer.
