I just purchased a 120GB Hard drive, and am moving some of my hard drives around... 40
GB out of the main XP box to the iMac.

With regard to installing a new drive, please advise if I have the right procedure:

  1. I need to find out how to access the HD in my iMac Summer 2000 Indigo 350Mhz...
any ideas, where I could see diagrams of this?
  2. Take out the old iMac 6 GB factory HD
  3. Put in the "new" 40 GB drive
  4. Boot using OS 9.2 CDROM
  5. Follow whatever directions it has...
  6. Apply v9.2 updates
  7. Install OS 9.2 Applications from App Restore CD
  8. Update any apps that need updating
  9. Boot using Jaguar CDROM + Follow directions
 10. Update Jaguar to 10.2.4 or whatever is more recent
 11. Install Jaguar apps
 12. Install Jaguar app updates

How then... do I migrate files to the new Drive... Can I steal what is presumably an
IDE cable from the back of the CDROM slot-drive to make the new drive master and the
old drive slave... long enough to boot into Classic/Jaguar and move files?

P.s. Please no flaming on my decision to install the largest drive in a non-mac PC.

TIA,

Dave
