From: David K <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Nothing to do with Jaguar ... if it's Mac-compatible at all, it's compatible with Jag (and every other flavour of 9 or X).
Question: Is there some technical specification which noted, in the absence of
some nifty little smiley-mac-face logo, would convey that it is (or is not)
compatible with Jaguar?
Braat! Wrong! You need specific drivers for System 9 and System 10. We've been through this with scanners, printers, etc.
Technically speaking, ANY usb modem should work with Mac OS 8.6 and up. However, in order for it to work it will need a driver. Not every company bothers to write a driver for Mac. Ergo, some USB modems won't work.
See, you just contradicted your previous statement
Bottom line: buy a USB modem that offers Mac compatibility on the box.
When I see a box that says it is Mac compatible, I understand that they mean System 9 and below. I look for the special label that denotes System 10 compatibility
