I can't help you with the error problem, but I would suggest 2
possibilities. I use a Personal LW 320, which experiences similar problems
with large docs.

Is there any way to break up the pages into smaller blocks? Or, try printing
just one page at a time, if you're not already.

Can you give the copy to the paper in electronic form? Either as Pagemaker,
or PDF?
