I have also been following this thread, it appears to me that the importer (or whoever the info came from) did not give you the full story, from what I have read it is not the capacitor that is at fault, rather it is fitted back to front, that is the only way a replacement 10V one could have blown as the FireWire port can only supply 5V. The reason that they work on a PB but blow on an iMac is not voltage but rather current, the FW port on a PB cannot supply enough current to blow a reversed Cap, but the iMac can. I suggest that you get someone who knows how to use a multimeter to check the voltage across the cap while it is running and see if it matches the markings on the cap. Ben.
