The only thing I can tell you is to create a new user. Log in as the 
new user and see if you still have the same problem. If you don't have 
the problem logged in as the new user then it's your plist files in 
your home directory. If you still have the same problem logged in as 
the new user then you have a system problem and should do a archive and 
install with your OSX CD.
