Hi Mary,

Thanks for the info. i trashed the first safari i downloaded and tried to download again, but it acted like i had already downloaded safari: the download time took about 7 seconds!! The icon appeared on my desktop, i clicked on it, same problem.

Finally, went to auto software update in system preferences: the download worked fine and I'm now playing with safari.

don't know if i'll use safari though, as i really like mozilla, which i've been using for some time.
