Start by replacing the PRAM battery!

It's a cheap and fast way to get it going if your recently installed battery after all has gone bad. And even faster is resetting PRAM-memory (Cmd-Alt-P-R at start up if IIRC). Try this first before you dice out big money on analog board etc.
