The Bondi uses a separate AV board to control the video. Looking at the screen, the power supply lives on the right side of the machine and the AV board lives on the left. One needs to remove nearly all the plastic and tin to get to it. The AV board includes the 'box' that plugs onto the back of the CRT. (It's hardwired.) If your Bondi doesn't start (you get bong, green power button, orange power button, shutdown,) plug an external monitor in as Mary detailed above. (BTW, while scanning the service manual, I noticed that "Apple does not support connecting an external monitor to an iMac. Doing so will void your warranty.")
