I am just wondering how many people have .Mac and if you consider it money
well spent ? If so, which features do you use the most ?

I consider it overpriced, but I am (and will probably continue to be -- I have a few days left to re-up) a member.

Of the features I personally have used, far and away the easy integration with iPhoto has been the best feature. I don't carry a PDA or PDA phone yet (I will start doing so next year) so the iSync, which would also be a strong feature, hasn't been used much.

I also like Backup's ability to take small amounts of "really really important" type files (data mostly) and send it to my iDisk for offsite storage. I like the remote bookmarks feature (Safari) as well.

I like the remote webmail and the mac.com email address, but while those features are good I could get comparable services elsewhere.

I am asking because I want to set up a a web photo gallery so our relatives
can see all our recent photos on-line. The .Mac account seems the easiest
option thus far.

It's really great.

I guess it depends on your economics. To me, $8.33/month for these features isn't all THAT much, and while I would say that .Mac at present is really worth $69.99 rather than $99.99, I enjoy some of the side benefits that have popped up over the last year -- free games, free Kodak prints, discount on iPhoto books, etc.

Apple really needs to bundle something like a SERIOUS price break on Panther in order to get more people to renew. That would certainly make me MUCH more enthusiastic about signing up again.

Q: How many Microsoft programmers does it take to write a great piece of software?

A: More!
