In Dan's case, the advertising that supports this list literally pays his salary. Attempting to "steal" users away from his lists and onto yours literally takes money out of his pocket.
It is my opinion that the G-List is too over crowded with 32-bit G3/4 users to handle further boosts in traffic caused by G5 discussion. If Dan wants to 'cash in' on G5 discussions he needs a 64-bit List :)
