I am fairly certain that the loud humming is the hard drive spinning, if I were to upgrade my hard drive(unlikely, considering money) would that calm the noise down? Are faster rpm drives quieter? Is there some sort of way to install a fan in my Mac, to use as white noise? Noise isn't the problem, its the humming of the drive which gives me headaches and sounds louder than the music and system sounds.
