As everyone is no doubt aware, I still live in the Classic world and a friend posed the following questions:

-------- Original Message --------

When connected to the internet, all of the channels in Sherlock work fine, except the internet search channel. Explorer is up and running, and I open Sherlock, Internet and type in the subject I wish to search for. Could be humming bird migration, flags of the world, or anything else. I click on the magnifying glass icon and the spiral timer goes around for about 12 secs. then stops and /no references come up/ in the box. All other Sherlock channels work great, I can pull up Stocks, Flights etc. with no problem. So I do not recall doing anything that could cause this to happen. Everything was working as advertised and the next day, nothing. I do not see anything in preferences that seems out of order. Channels shows only, " Apple channels........ subscribed." Should there be more?

Beyond my earlier Sherlock questions, I now have another. In using Disk Copy to save files to CD, the iMac is hanging up at the "configuring burn..." stage. I can burn a CD from iTunes just fine, but try as I may, I cannot save data from the desktop.
I get to the point where the sparse image is converted fine, click on the burn CD line, be sure the disk is inserted ( have tried many different ones with same effect ) and up pops, per usual, the message that says ' Preparing to burn " Our Place. dmg... " or whatever the file is that I am trying to save. The barber pole starts rolling with the status saying " Configuring burn ..." and keeps at that point for over 30 mns., till I finally force quit. Previous burns, this step only took a second or two to execute. Tried going into Disk Copy Preferences etc. but to no avail.

Any thoughts? 17" flat panel iMac running Jag.

TIA.

Jim
