I don't think that electronic presentations are really that much more likely
to have glitches (until you try to add lots of effects); however, there has
to be something said for the quality of a real slide vs. the pixelized
representation that you get when you go ditital. To get a really good
high-resolution image with ditital, you've got to spend big money on the
projector; the flip side is that if you begin capturing in ditital you save
a bundle in film & processing. Digital pictures also have the advantage of
being able to be shared via the web and other electronic media.
I agree with others in that there is not that much to be concerned about new
projectors not being availible. There are many used ones arround. As long as
you can get bulbs, film, and processing slide shows will continue to be an
option. As the popularity of slides dwindles, these items may become harder
to find/more expensive.
