I've got some documents and a couple of compressed folders on my desktop
that I can't delete. They were put there when I was attempting to download
them from the Mac OSX download site. The downloads hung, and I purged the
Download Manager files, but can't delete these files. Every time I try to
put them in the trash, I get a "Trash" message window that says each item is
"being used by another task right now..." and to try again later. After
several days, numerous reboots, and running of permissions repair from the
installation CD, they're still there. I'm running 10.2.6 on a grape 333. How
do I get out of the GUI and get into Unix to delete these files? I've been
all over OSX Help and nothing I've found there seems to work. Help!
