Yes, as far as the hardware is concerned. You may not have all of the
required s/w installed (esp. the DVD player) but a re-install will fix that.
This is easily solved if you have OSX. you need a software called 'Pacifist', then you can extract 'DVD Player.app' from the install CD without reinstalling.
