I've got a pretty new Visioneer digital camera. I bought a 128 MB SD card to complement the measly 8 or 16 MB of built in memory. At first, things were looking good. I took a trip, and filled up both the internal memory and the 128 MB card. Got home, plugged the camera in, and downloaded all those pictures onto the Rev. B iMac (OS 9.2.2), great! (Just gonna need a bigger hard drive!)
A couple of days later, I had taken a few more pictures, plugged the camera in (after setting it to use the 128 MB card) and got the dreaded "This disk is not readable, do you want to format it?" I said "no" and unplugged the camera, switched to the internal memory and the iMac mounted it just fine. Used the camera's built in "copy" function to move the pictures from the card to internal memory, and got them off that way. I've tried reformatting the card in the camera, and even saying "yes" when the iMac asks to format it. Nothing works, the iMac just won't mount that big SD card in the camera, even though it did it fine a week or two ago. The big card mounts fine on my Win 98 PC. Anyone seen anything like this? Nothing has been changed on the iMac. I don't have access to any other USB equipped Macs at the moment to see if it works on them. -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
