Hi, any reports on classic imac users with panther?????

I have it on a G3/700 w/576MB RAM. Runs GREAT!!

And since I'm in Mexico i don't have much help, so i would appreciate
any preinstallment tips

1. BEFORE starting the install, run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions. Download and run OnyX's "automate" function to clear out old caches, etc. (it's free).

2. If you have a directory-optimizer program like Disk Warrior* or Drive 10, run that too.

3. Make a backup of your valuable data. You should be doing this anyway. I made a complete backup of my 10.2.8 system to an external firewire HD using Carbon Copy Cloner, and it really works well.

4. Once that's done, install Panther. I chose the "Archive and Install" option (because I had the complete backup), but you can also just choose to "Update".

5. The process will take between 30 minutes and an hour. I chose a Custom Install because I wanted to avoid putting extra languages and printer drivers I know I won't use on there, and because I *did* want X11 on (it's a geek thing, not needed for most users).

6. Once the process is finished, run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions again. If you did an Archive and Install, you can go into your Previous System Folder and copy over any third-party fonts, menu extras or "haxies" that you may have had in there. As a rule of thumb, I keep the Previous System Folder around for a couple of weeks and then toss it.

will i have access to Expose?

Yes.

will i be able to continue using classic
9.2 the same as Jaguar, etc.

Of course.

*Once you upgrade to Panther, DiskWarrior will no longer work correctly. Alsoft will update it soon.
